Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need a visa to enter Brazil?

1

Most countries in North and South America do not require visas. For more information on Brasilian visas, please consult https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/consulado-miami/information-about-visas-in-english.

What is the process for booking hotels?

2

YMUN Brasil is excited to announce our partnership with two hotels: Royal Tulip and Golden Tulip. Delegates can purchase rooms either independently or through the YMUN Brasil platform to receive a discount. When purchasing through the platform, advisors can choose to either purchase a basic package that does include a hotel or a registration and hotel room bundle. The Gold Package includes a room at the Golden Tulip. The Royal Package includes a room at the Royal Tulip. We encourage advisors to book all their delegates into one hotel.

How to register for YMUN Brasil?

3

Registration is NOW OPEN! Delegates can register through the registration platform at https://yira.knack.com/ymun-brasil-registration-platform#delegation-home/. Any issues regarding the platform should be directed to dg.operations@ymunb.org or delegations@ymunb.org

Is there any option to attend virtually?

4

All committees for YMUN Brasil will be conducted fully in-person. There are no virtual options.

What are the language options for committees?

5

We are excited to offer three committees run fully in Portuguese by native Brasilian speakers. We will have one General Assembly Portuguese-speaking committee, one ECOSOC Portuguese-speaking committee, and one Specialized Portuguese-speaking committee. All other committees will be offered fully in English. All conduct, debate, and informal discussions within committees should be conducted in the language of the committee. There will be no Spanish-speaking committees.

Is there an age limit for participation?

6

While there is no formal age limit, delegates must be in high school (secondary school) or equivalent. Recent graduates of high school may participate ONLY IF they have not yet begun their undergraduate studies by the time of the conference. Please note that gap year students must be younger than 20 years old to attend.

When is the registration and payment deadline?

7

The final registration deadline is June 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. After this, all delegations attempting to register will be automatically added to the waitlist. After the registration deadline passes, all registered delegations will receive the ability to fill out their country and committee preferences.

The early registration deadline is February 20th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. To receive the early registration discount, delegations must pay 10% of their registration package fee. Otherwise, they will have to pay the regular fees.

Are there any limitations for delegations?

8

Our limit is 50 delegates and 20 advisors per delegation. Additionally, we require that delegations have at least one advisor for every 20 delegates. All advisors must be added by the July 15th “Delegate Names” deadline or face potential additional fees.

What level of parental/advisor support is allowed during the conference?

9

Parents and advisors are welcome to observe committee sessions but should not provide assistance to their delegates throughout the conference. Please note that parents need to pay the advisor fee to attend conference events.

How do I apply for financial aid?

10

The application period will be open on February 1, 2026, and made available on the registration platform under the “Fees” tab. We therefore strongly encourage delegates to submit their application as soon as possible, as there are limited funds available for financial aid. The deadline to submit applications for financial aid is May 5, 2025, and the decisions will be released within the following week. For more information, please visit our Financial Aid page.

How do I submit my payments?

11
